About Mahjong Night
Join us at The Farm at 42 for a relaxed, welcoming evening of American Mahjong — no experience required. Whether you’ve never touched a tile or just want a friendly refresher, our beginner-focused class will walk you through the fundamentals so you can leave confident and ready to play.
The class is taught in partnership with Mah Birdie Bam, our friends and local mahjong experts. Pull up a seat, bring a friend, and discover what’s quickly becoming everyone’s favorite night out.

Frequently Asked Questions
American Mahjong is a tile-based game for four players that combines strategy, luck, and social play. It’s played with 152 tiles and a yearly card from the National Mah Jongg League. This class focuses on the American style — no prior knowledge needed.
Not at all. This is a beginner class designed for people who have never played before, or who’d like a friendly refresher on the basics.
Your ticket includes the full class, all materials (tiles, racks, and reference cards), and one drink ticket (beer, wine, or a soft drink).
Both are great! Come solo and we’ll seat you with other players, or grab a couple of friends and learn together. Mahjong is a four-player game, so groups of four work especially well.

The Farm at 42 is located in Selma, NC. Detailed directions and parking information will be included in your confirmation email after registration.
All ticket sales are final. Tickets are transferable but not refundable. If you’re unable to attend, you’re welcome to send someone in your place — just let us know.
